Repair it, or replace it? The honest answer. |
Hi {{contact.first_name}} — one of the most common questions we get is whether a tired AC is worth fixing one more time. Here's the same rule of thumb we'd give family:
Lean toward repair if the unit is under ~10 years old, the fix is small, and it's the first real problem you've had.
Lean toward replacing if it's 10–15+ years old, uses the old R-22 refrigerant, the repair is a big-ticket part (compressor, coil), or you're sinking money into it every single summer. At that point repairs are money you'll never get back.
Not sure which side you're on? That's exactly what our free estimate is for — we'll tell you the truth, even when the truth is “keep what you've got.”
